Supporting The Cause

Lindsey St. Arnold Bell

Who are you?

My name is Lindsey St. Arnold Bell and I just finished my 6th week as the Associate Director at the Near West Side Partners. Before joining NWSP, I served as the Secretary to the Board of Zoning Appeals for the City of Milwaukee. I am a graduate of UWM and have proudly called Milwaukee my home since 2001.

I believe that Milwaukee neighborhoods succeed when residents work together and are confident that their efforts can lead to improvements. My goal is to assist neighbors, community leaders, and business owners in both facing the struggles and celebrating the victories in the area. I am excited to be working on behalf of the 7 neighborhoods and finding ways to highlight the many positive things that are happening in the Near West Side.

What do you do?

As the Associate Director, I wear several hats. I am part administrator, making sure the day-to- day functions of the NWSP offices run smoothly and that board meetings are efficient and effective. As part of the NWSP team you’ll also see me in the community with Keith and Darrian, representing the NWS/NWSP at meetings and presentations, connecting with residents and businesses, and carrying out the goals of the Near West Side Partners. For businesses established in the area, and those looking to expand or relocate to the Near West Side, I will serve as a resource to explain and help navigate the various City processes and procedures. I will also be a champion for the 7 neighborhoods, highlighting the many historical and cultural assets in area and all that the Near West Side has to offer.

Why is it important?

Administrative efficiency is important for the long-term establishment of an organization. It gives donors confidence to invest in the Near West Side Partners mission, knowing that contributions will be used effectively and appropriately. That confidence in turn extends to new businesses and residents who see the value in establishing roots in the area, while at the same time it supports and recognizes the efforts of existing residents and business owners, who have been long time champions of the Near West Side.
