Chicken, Waffles and, Community
When working with some of the poorest people in this country what tools do you use to incorporate faith, hope and entrepreneurial skill sets to improve their lives?
Pastor Corey Brooks of New Beginnings, a faith based ministry in the Southside of Chicago, is using a number of tools and strategies to engage the youth and people of that community.
A nonprofit school for public school dropouts, several music studios and a new entrepreneurial hub developed from a former Walgreens location are just a few of the initiatives Pastor Corey is incorporating into his faith based strategy.
After getting "getting greasy" as we say, or eating a plate full of chicken and waffles, Pastor Corey had the fried gizzards, I hopped in the car with him to discuss his work in the Southside of Chicago. Check out the pictures below and hear the interview here.
