Near West Side 2019 Employee Clean-Up

The Near West Side was full of activity on Friday, May 31st as employees of nine businesses - including Catholic Financial Life, Marquette University, Milwaukee Center for Independence, Penfield Children's Center, Potawatomi Business Development Corp., Quorum Architects, the Tripoli Shrine Center, MillerCoors, and Harley-Davdison - committed to a day of neighborhood service. Hundreds of employees pitched in to help keep the neighborhood clean and, through their efforts, over 50 bags of garbage were collected on major thoroughfares. Following the clean-ups, all participants were invited to MillerCoors to enjoy cold beers and camaraderie!

This clean-up was pulled together by Tarah Thompson, facilities coordinator at Potawatomi Business Development Corporation, as part of the larger clean and green effort in the Near West Side. The clean and green efforts include resident-led neighborhood clean-up and targeted blight reporting.
