Choice Neighborhood Initiative - Collage Court Updates

On Thursday, July 18th Near West Side Choice Neighborhood Initiative (CNI) hosted its 2nd Resident Stakeholder Leadership Academy (RSLA). Nine residents were able to take advantage of this opportunity, six of which have accepted roles on the CNI Resident Council.

The academy was facilitated by Effective Communications Coach, Denise Thomas.

Through an interactive presentation Denise spoke with the group about cross-generational and cross-cultural communication, and the importance of self-reflection and teamwork.

The RSLA is a three-part training series designed to help increase the Resident Council’s awareness of community resources and inter-generational strategies for addressing neighborhood change.

The final session of the series is scheduled to be hosted mid-December. Thank you to all the residents who attended and special thank you to Denise Thomas for her leadership!
